So, when allie and i got to the colosseum, it was super crouded. the line was about an hour wait and it made it so that we didn't have time to go in and meet up with our friends. it makes it difficult to go without cellphones because we can't communicate a change in plans so we figured out how late it was open and that we could go back after the beach. So, we decided to just sit down and sketch for a while until we could meet up with the girls. We shared with them that plan that we could just come back later and they agreed that it'd be better that way. They said it isn't as crowded in the evening anyway. We made our way to the trainstop, and oh, can I tell you, I have never experienced being surrounded by so many people who didn't speak english. The whole system was very confusing and we couldn't find anyone who could speak english!!! I know how those missionaries feel out there!! So, we didn't fully understand the scheduling and when we realized that they train wasn't leaving when it was supposed to we looked into it

realizing that the line we wanted at that time of day, didn't run on Sunday. We literally missed it by one minute! Okay. . . . so . . . we finally found the information booth (which, by the way, was horribly marked) and they informed us that the next train would leave in one hour( keep in mind that we had already waited an hour and a half. So, we decided at that point that it was still worth it to wait for the next train. Well, once again, due to our lack of understanding of Italian, we were not informed that the platform had changed on us. WE MISSED TWO TRAINS! We waited at the trainstop for three hours. After feeling a little frustrated, we realized that maybe perhaps we were not supposed to go to the beach today, and we accepted it. So we decided to head back, sit down and sketch the colosseum (which was closed for a time) and then decided what to do. We were exha

usted in the end and Allie and Becky still went inside, which is good because it meant a lot to allie to be able to go inside. I personally didn't feel like going anymore so the rest of us headed back to our own little beach here at the hotel. I don't regret not going inside the Colosseum. It would have been a great experience but this time i'm not too worried about it. However, I am not going to hold back in any other situation or opportunity. I've already told myself that, but today has been a little hectic. I think i need some rest before we head off to Florence in the morning. That way, i'll be refreshed to go again. We are going to take it easy the rest of the time that we are here tonight.
Since we were unable to actually go to the beach today, we decided to just go to the pool instead. It made up for a long day of waiting. We had lots of fun and laughed as we took fun pictures and refreshed ourselves. Goodness, hopefully we will not be missing any more trains in the near future.
